Oromia Clarifies about Payments through Siinqee Bank
Oromia regional finance bureau has clarified about regional government payments made through Siinqee Bank. The bureau addressed rumors that government payments through Siinqee bank will not be accepted.
According to the regional finance bureau, a decision has been made and all regional government payments will be made through internet banking. The new payment system is being followed to achieve the “digital Ethiopia” plan that the government plans to achieve within the next four years.
Since many of the Oromia government payments are made through Siinqee Bank, that is why rumors were going around that only through Commercial Bank of Ethiopia Internet Banking, government payments will be made. The regional finance bureau has clarified that this transition applies to offices currently using the Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE) and does not apply to payments which are made through Siinqee Bank.
