COC Exam Schedule: EHPLE Dates & Rules (2018 E.C.)
If you’re getting ready for the COC Exam, you probably have some questions. When is my exam? What do I need to bring? Can I use my phone during a break? This guide answers all of that, using the official schedule and rules for this round of exams.
The COC Exam, officially called the Ethiopian Health Professionals Licensing Examinations (EHPLE), runs from August 13 to 15, 2018 (Ethiopian calendar). The COC Exam is the licensing test that health professionals in Ethiopia must pass before they can practice. It’s officially known as the Ethiopian Health Professionals Licensing Examinations (EHPLE). People also call it the COC Exam.
This exam covers a wide range of health fields. Depending on what you studied, your exam date and subject group will differ.
COC Exam Schedule by Date
The exam will be conducted in three days, with different professions tested on different days.
August 13, 2018 (E.C.)
If you studied any of the fields below, this is your exam day:
- Medicine
- Pharmacy
- Anesthesia
- Environmental Health
- Human Nutrition
- Emergency and Critical Care Nursing
- Dental Medicine
- Optometry
August 14, 2018 (E.C.)
Candidates in these fields will sit for their exam on the second day:
- Medical Laboratory Science
- Public Health
- Midwifery
- Medical Radiology Technology
- Pediatric and Child Health Nursing
- Psychiatric Nursing
- Physiotherapy
- Surgical Nursing
August 15, 2018 (E.C.)
The final day is for one group only:
- Nursing
Before the actual exam starts, there’s a mandatory orientation you need to attend.
- Date: August 12, 2018 (E.C.)
- Time: 8:00 AM
- Location: Your assigned exam center
You must need to bring
- National ID
- Exam admission slip
Here’s a clear list of items you need to leave behind
- Phones and smartwatches
- Calculators (unless you have a documented visual impairment)
- Bags of any kind
- Reference materials or notes
- Blank paper
- Food and drinks (unless you have a documented health condition that requires them)
If you have a medical condition that requires an exception, make sure you have the proper documentation ready to show.
A few procedural things to keep in mind once you’re inside
- Sign the attendance sheet before you leave the room at the end of each session (both morning and afternoon).
- Stick to your assigned center. You can only take the exam at the exact institution listed on your registration. You can’t change the centers.
