Central Ethiopia 8th Grade Exam Results 2018 Announced

Today, the Central Ethiopia region announced the 8th Grade Exam results for the 2018 Ethiopian academic year. This year’s results were the best in recent years for the region. 85,531 students appeared for the 8th-grade regional exam in Central Ethiopia this year. Out of 85,531 students, 83,342 students obtained the passing score and successfully moved on to 9th grade.

The passing rate of the 8th Grade Exam results 2018/2026 is 97.4%. According to Anteneh Fekadu, head of the regional education office, this is the highest percentage seen in the region in recent years. In other words, nearly all students who took the exam this year have passed.

How to Check 8th Grade Exam Results for the 2018 Ethiopian Academic Year?

There are two methods to check the 8th Grade Exam results for the 2018 Ethiopian academic year. One is to check the results in a web browser, and the other is to check on Telegram.

Method 1: Check Your 8th Grade Exam Results Using a Web Browser

• Open your web browser (this works on both computers and mobile phones).
• Go to this address: https://ce.ministry.et/
• You’ll see a simple form on the screen. Fill in your registration number and your first name.
• Click the button that says “Check Your Result.”

Method 2: Check Your 8th Grade Exam Result Through the Telegram Bot

• Search for @MinistryResultQMTBOT on Telegram and open it.
• Once you’re in the chat, send the message /start.
• The bot will ask you to pick your grade level. Choose “Grade 8” from the list.
• After that, the bot will ask you to select your region. Select “Central Ethiopia”
• Type in your 7-digit registration number.
• Enter your first name correctly, and your result will pop up.

Not all students require the same grade to pass. The region has two thresholds:

• Regular students must achieve 50% (or better) to pass the exam.
• Students with disabilities and/or special needs must obtain a score of 45% or above.

This type of split is intended to provide students with additional support in an impartial way in the exam process. This year, 1,538 schools gave the exam, and 1,017 of them had all their students pass. That’s 2 out of 3 schools in the region with no failure. That’s a pretty good indication of the schools’ performance.

The 97.4% pass rate for the 8th grade exam results is not only a good figure, but also the highest in the region in recent years. This is good news for 83,342 students who passed, now they can advance to 9th grade. Moreover, Ethiopia is changing the way it selects its university leaders. The Ethiopian Ministry of Education (MoE) recently published Directive No. 1146/2018, which changes the rules for the election of presidents and vice presidents at governmental higher education institutions.
