Thousands of Tigray 12th Grade Students to Take Exam on Wednesday
Thousands of Tigray 12th grade students will take exam tomorrow. Mekelle and Aksum universities have been receiving students since yesterday. Orientation sessions for students are underway at the two universities.
Paper based 12th grade exam in Tigray was postponed earlier this month as exam material could not reach the region. Tigray education bureau, responding to the delay caused by the Federal Ministry of Education, threatened to conduct 12th grade exam on regional level. The Ethiopian Federal Ministry of Education warned Tigray authorities against holding the exam regionally, warning such an exam will not be recognized by the Federal Ministry of Education which is the only recognized institution to conduct the exam across Ethiopia. It seems that issue has been solved. Exam material, federal Ministry of Education and security officials have arrived in Tigray to conduct the exam.
The paper based 12th grade exam in Tigray will be conducted from Wednesday till Friday. The Grade 12 exam in Ethiopia is mandatory stepping stone for students for pursuing university education.
